General AISI 4130 alloy steel information
AISI 4130 has a low resistance to corrosion and contains chromium and molybdenum for strengthening.
AISI 4130 is easily machined, becoming more difficult with hardness and welded with all commercial methods. AISI 4130 can be conventionally cold worked, with hot working at 816° to 1093°C (1500 to 2200°F). Depending on strength level, tempering at 399° to 566°C (750 to 1050°F).
AISI 4130 Applications
- Airframe components,
- Oil and Gas pipework, forged valve bodies and pumps,
- Aerospace,
- Machine Tools.
