General Tantalum information

Tough, durable and ductile, Tantalum is superconductive and high-temperature strength with low expansion.  Tantalum’s melting point at 3017 degrees Celsius is only exceeded by tungsten and rhenium.  With excellent corrosion resistance, Tantalum is very malleable, and can be cold forged, rolled, punched, pulled and otherwise easily shaped.

Tantalum Corrosion Resistance

One of the most corrosion-resistant materials in common use, Tantalum’s naturally occurring oxide surface film provides extreme resistance in aggressive media.  Tantalum will not corrode in up to 98% nitric acid concentrations, and temperatures of at 100°C.
